Which types of vaccines against Covid-19 are currently relevant for Switzerland?

So far, the mRNA vaccines made by Moderna (Spikevax®) and Pfizer/BioNTech (Comirnaty®) as well as the vector vaccine of Johnson & Johnson (Ad26.COV2-S, COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen) are available in Switzerland. Both the mRNA vaccines and the vector vaccine are also approved for booster vaccinations.

Switzerland has also authorized a protein vaccine made by Novavax (Nuvaxovid®). It is expected to be available in the second quarter 2022.

Both CureVac, with its mRNA vaccine CVnCoV, and AstraZeneca with its vector vaccine Vaxzevria®, have meanwhile withdrawn their applications for authorisation from Swissmedic.
