“Ghost Particle” introduces us to the fascinating world of neutrinos, elusive particles that pass through matter with almost no interaction. These “ghost particles” hold secrets of the universe and play a vital role in our understanding of the cosmos. Through stunning footage and expert interviews, this documentary takes us on a journey from deep underground neutrino detectors to the far reaches of the universe, unravelling the profound impact of neutrinos on our understanding of astrophysics and the evolution of the universe. “Ghost Particle” offers an insider's view of how scientists around the globe embark on the task of designing an experiment to detect the undetectable. It is also a primer for a better understanding of neutrinos and it presents the history of the research that has brought us to where we are today, looks at where we are going and discusses what makes neutrinos so difficult to detect and why this research is so important. The documentary will take us from CERN in Switzerland to a visit to the Super K detector in Japan, to the efforts for the next exciting chapter: DUNE in the United States and Hyper-Kamiokande in Japan.
