K. Alex Müller was a professor at the University of Zurich and received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1987. He passed away at the age of 95 on January 9, 2023.

The eminent physicist was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics with J. Georg Bednorz for the discovery of high-temperature superconductivity. K. Alex Müller was both a professor at the University of Zurich and a fellow at the IBM Research Laboratory in Rüschlikon. UZH and IBM Research are jointly honoring his work and person at a symposium.

Exhibition at Irchel Campus

From 19 September (opening event at 4:00pm) to 14 October, an exhibition in the Lichthof Irchel will provide insights into the outstanding research and life of K. Alex Müller. The exhibition describes the phenomenon of superconductivity, in particular high-temperature superconductivity, and shows where superconductivity is used in technical applications in everyday life.
