Platform MAP

The Platform MAP groups together the three disciplines Mathematics, Astronomy and Physics. It is one of the six platforms of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT). It is lead by a Presidium and includes 10 societies, 4 commissions and 11 national committees or contact points of international scientific organisations. Those form together the MAP Plenum.

The Platform MAP promotes exchange within the scientific community and is committed to strong networking and knowledge transfer. It organizes the connection to the relevant international scientific associations.

The Platform MAP also seeks dialogue with politicians and the general public. On the one hand, to give decision-makers and voters solid scientific arguments, and on the other to sensitize the public to mathematics, astronomy and physics as fundamental and future-oriented sciences.
